In the summer, it fascinates us with natural freshness and coolness, which is completely different from the artificial air conditioning. It is the dominant gift of Dobrna, its precious pearl of irreplaceable natural heritage. Parks are an image of a human desire to regulate nature and Dobrna was among the first spa resorts that had their own park.<br \/>\nThe beginnings of the Dobrna Health Park date back to the year 1820, when the then owner of the spa, count Ksaverij Kajetan of Diernsberg, had a chestnut alley planted.<br \/>\nIn a strate line, it connected the sanatorium home with Dobrna. To the north of that axis was Novak&#8217;s agricultural land, which, through its restaurant activity, attracted health resort guests, and south of the axis, the lawn slowly changed into the forest. Between the alley and the northern path, there was initially a grass area, which was only crossed by the spa stream, or Topli\u010dica, as the natives call it today. In the next decades, park plantations already began to be cultivated. The years 1847-1848 were decisive, when the Count Hoyos took over the health resort. Tree groups are complemented by ornamental shrubs, new routes and resting places appear. In particular, the trees, exemplarily marked, are special in this park and offer a rich botanical knowledge to the visitor. It is dominated by wild chestnuts, but there are also autumn maple, birch, cigar tree, giant thuja, red-leaved beech, silver spruce, plane tree, white poplar, cer, English oak, Taxus, American thuja, eastern hemlock. The white poplar near the sanatorium has a trunk circumference of 515 cm and is ranked third among the known poplars in Slovenia, followed closely by the plane tree by \u0160vicarija, with a circumference of 464 cm, while the giant thuja in the middle of the park boasts a 280 cm circumference. The lively stream Topli\u0161ki potok is naturally included in the park arrangement. The park is equipped with benches for rest, even a smaller pavilion is found for sitting down a smaller company or for playing cards. In modern times it was also joined by the playground for children, and on its southern edge there is a tennis court. The park, in the southern and northern part, passes into the natural forest of conifers, where a jogging path is arranged.The Dobrnica brook flows through the area, which is first seen on the maps under this name at the Zlodejev mlin in Paro\u017e, where \u0160ume\u010dnica and Ka\u010dnica meet. You&#8217;ll get to know it better if you fo for a walk towards the Hudi\u010dev Graben.
