Not far from the Gutenek mansion (Dobrnica mansion) towards the Hudičev graben the cave Ledenica is located. By the road it’s nicely marked how to get to it. In the rocky slopes, in the distant past, the natural cave of limestone origin was expanded and converted into an ice warehouse for cooling beer from the brewery in the Dobrnica manor. It later served as a warehouse and a cold store for drinks. During the winter months, ice was harvested in nearby ponds; this remained in it all the way to the end of the summer. Here, in the fresh air, enriched by conifers, you can pick rushes, hellebore, cyclamen, lungworts, primrose, hepatica. The entrance to the cave is adorned with a yellow marsh marigold. From here, we can continue the path to the Hudičev graben or to the hill over Drenovec to Brdce to the black kitchen at Šumej and the picnic area at the Marovšek farm, and then continue to Brdce and Paški Kozjak.
